I have a couple of questions about True Image. I've currently got the trial download installed. I don't really want to join yet another forum (Acronis), so I hope a user here can help...

1. I had to reinstall an OEM Windows XP a few weeks ago (fortunately I have *** Windows CD) and had to re-activate. Am I correct that restoring with an Acronis Image copy of drive C: doesn't trigger/require re-activation?

2. Should I install the retail version of True Image 9 from the CD or will I be able to register the trial period installation when I get the retail package?

Many thanks for any help...

Yes your correct, the image of the drive will include the activation files so it won't need to be re-activated after restoring the image.
I can't remember what I did now after buying the software. All I will say is that its certainly worth the money.

I recently bought the same piece of Acronis Software and its definately worth the money. Very well put together and easy to use. Get it! I think with the trial software you can just enter the serial key and upgrade it to the full version.

As long as you do not change you hardware i.e. Motherboard, it will not need to be re-activated.

Just be aware that True Image won't let you resize the partition like Ghost does. It was really annoying because I used to keep Windows on a small partition on my laptop and when I upgraded my hard disk to big jiggabytes I was stuck with the small Windows partition. Other than that I prefer True Image to Ghost.

yes I use acronis 9 and it resized my partition on the fly as well. Although I had to take out the HD from the other system and reimage then put it back in the machine. Is there anyway to image from a boot disk or something? (my image was under 4 gig)
