and was wondering if any of you guys could quickly check it over before i buy.

I`m wondering if anyone sees any compatability issues?.

I have a budget for £1500.00 and at the moment this lot is £1,337.74. Is there anything i could throw the extra £170.00 at that would noticably increase performance?. (I have a monitor and DvD-rw)

Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

If you do indeed intend to Xfire, then I suggest a beefier PSU. 600W Seasonic perhaps, 700W FSP, 600W Liberty that kind of thing.

If you went for the CPU cooler for looks, then fine but if for performance, Scythe Ninja.

Get a floppy - I know you probably won't use it but just in case you need to do an F6 install, you could just have it lying around for that. Trust me, I've often just used a floppy to install windows with for SATA drivers and it saves a lot of hassle.

It looks like a good PC, the case isn't one of the best in terms of airflow but if that isn't an issue then I can only really echo smids' advice to you, the Tagan 580w is also worth considering since you have some space in your budget.

Hiya Smids,

I hadn`t intented to go for Crossfire straightaway but liked to have the option in case i get a bit more spare cash again and can then try it out.

Thanks for the advice on the PSU, I assume OC-UK don`t stock Seasonic stuff tho?.

Good advice on the floopy DD also, never entered my mind i might need it if i connect the HDD via sata cable.

Basically i`m looking for a really good gaming system within that budget and i`m hoping i`m not too far away in terms of max spec compatabilty

Your spec is pretty amazing ;). It only really needs tweaking in a few areas - but certainly I would go for a powerful PSU. The Zalman 9500 something and the Scythe Ninja are the two best available air coolers, with the Ninja just ahead. Please, please, please don't buy anything with that muppet Wendell's name on it. Fatality stuff just costs more because of the name, not because of performance :p :).

SPW, you reckon maybe Antec p180 would allow better air-flow?. (and room for that Zalman CPU cooler?).

Yes the P180 has a better design for cooling, you could also look to the Akasa Eclipse although it isn't as shiney. Either one will be better for airflow, which one depends on the looks you prefer and I don't know about the CPU cooler but I'd be pretty sure you could fit it into either case. :)

Perhaps add a 72gig raptor for Windows and programs then use the Western Digital Caviar SE16 320GB for all else,

Good point. I'd suggest a 74GB raptor + say 300GB Seagate 7200.9 as storage. Speed of raptor + reliability of Seagate.

If you can, check the seasonic psu cable length, the p180 case has the psu in the bottom of the case and some poeple have had some problems with cables reaching ( to short ).
I can confirm that the Antec NeoHE 500W ( there is a 550W version ) Modular cables do reach, on a DFI LanParty UT NF4 Ultra-D mobo, and is very quiet as well. I have both the p180 and antec psu and then some cables only just reach.
