About to click buy....

if you got good hearing dont go for the g1 ;)

If you can afford this card then you can afford a decent set of 7.1 headphones. But its not really an issue at all, I have just bought this card and been testing early days on all the aspects, but i can confirm sound is not an issue above gaming noise. My card maxed out sits around 70-73 only seen it flash 74 once for a blink of an eye.
However right now that all counts for toffee for me. It beats my 290x lightning in every way except Iracing which i will be doing extensive tests in the next to weeks.

The G1 seems like the best choice. I would have got it but it's too long to fit in my case.

I got the EVGA and got a free extended warranty to 5 years.

Reading around the G1 seems to be a real beast. If money is not important or you can justify it and your into bench marking and want the chance(silicon lottery) of getting a high overclock, then get the G1.

But if you feel that the £100 could be used elsewhere to better effect, then get either the Inno3D or Zotac card. Personally myself I wouldn't spend the extra £100 as I'd be happy with the "out the box" performance of any of the aftermarket 980Ti's, and I'm a bit tight fisted :p I do overclock but only moderately.

But that's all my preference, only you can decide if it is worth the extra money to you.

If there is no budget to consider the G1 all the way.

Is it worth 100 more? of course not, the zotac will do the job just as well and is well priced. The G1 is for those that want the best of the best.

Best answer.

G1 is for those with no care of money. Zotac will do just as good a job for much less cash.

Zotac for me, however G1 is the best card

If they were the same price, G1 all day, but current OcUK prices - Zotac

Different people seem to be complaining about the noise/praising the quietness of this card, seems very odd! Can't wait for mine to arrive on Monday though, have you tried overclocking yours? Have you heard any coil whine?
