Wish me luck :p From the differing views I've seen on here I am none the wiser as to whether this will be a good move or not. I'm a heavy office user, some gaming; I mainly want a pretty GUI and greater efficiency and ease of use.

I'm in the process of backing up and copying my MP3s etc to my second drive so that I can have a nice clean installation of Vista rather than an upgrade from XP Pro. Fingers crossed it will go smoothly and my DVD / 2nd drive backup plan will see me right!!

Done...looks very nice, just scratching the surface at the moment but first impressions are good. Now for half a day hunting down drivers!!

tchan_4 - couldn't tell if you were being sarcastic, but it took me less than that cause posting my update above wasn't the first thing I did.

Vista so far seems great. I like it more than XP because it feels more refined and responsive, even with my old rig things load quickly and boot time is comparable if not better than XP.

Only thing so far that's caused a problem is that I can't get Vista to display ink levels on my Epson C64. X-Fi and video drivers are fine.
