I'm after a reliable connection, and although I'm not gaming at the moment I may well do when I set up the 360 again.

I'm looking at the Plusnet Pro package;

With Pro you pay a little bit more for the best broadband experience. It's perfect if you demand fast downloads, no matter what time of day or what you're doing online.

-All traffic prioritised at all times
-Low latency and pings
-Reliable and stable connection
-Up to 20Mb1 download speeds
-Static IP available2 and turn interleaving off if you need to
-20GB usage allowance
-Free usage between midnight-8am (perfect for scheduling large downloads)

Obviously the 20GB allowance isn't huge, but I will happily download between midnight and 8am.

The fact that it's prioritised I'm guessing will mean they don't shape the traffic?

£16.49 a month isn't bad either.

Any things I should look out for / or avoid them?

I used samknows and the available providers are;

The following services are available in your location:
BT Wholesale ADSL
BT Wholesale ADSL Max
BT Wholesale WBC (21CN)
AOL LLU
Bulldog LLU
TalkTalk (CPW) LLU
Sky Broadband / Easynet LLU
Tiscali LLU
Orange LLU (Formerly Wanadoo)

Who would Plusnet come through?

when I was Plusnet I was going through BT Wholesale WBC (21CN).

I found them to be reliable and support OK, but I was too far alway from the exchange to get good download speed (up to 3.5Mb only).

Moved to Virgin 50Mb now and happy with the speed.

You say you are after a reliable connection what problems are you getting now with your ISP.

Could be a problem with your line and box in you house, moving ISP may not help

I believe that Plusnet is owned by BT

Well I'm living in a new home with my mum and the BT package we had is now going with my dad to his new place. I've looked at BT and while I've been happy so far, the closest thing to the Plusnet Pro package costs about £18, I'm fairly sure it shapes traffic (correct me if BT don't) and also it's an 18 month contract.
