About to join the PS3 club! Some recommendations please...

I'm picking one up from a fellow member on here tomorrow and GT5 is coming with it (very excited :))

However what other games are good? I'm definitely going to get the latest COD.

Already have an xbox and I have quite a broad taste, however have never warmed to things like Fallout or Metal Gear Solid etc.

Once I'm up and online I'll need some friends though! No weirdos please :p
 
Even if you don't like the traditional Metal Gear Solid games you really, really need to get MGS4 you can pick it up for peanuts. It's one of the best games I've ever played, the story is great, the characters are excellent and so is the dialogue, it's nothing short of a digital masterpiece in my opinion and while it does get slightly self indulgent at times I think that's a good thing in this case.

As for exclusives you could do worse than to pick up Uncharted 2, Infamous and Heavy Rain. People say to play the first Uncharted game before the second but to be honest you wouldn't be missing that much anyway. I have only had a short go on the first Uncharted game as Uncharted 2 came with my console and at no point was I sat there wondering what was going on or who they were referring to, the game does a good job of telling a story without you needing to know every last detail of what went on in the previous game.

Once you've got the console hit me up on PSN, my addy is underneath my sig and we'll definitely get some games of CoD going, I'm not weird, just special. :p

Uncharted 1 + 2

Can pick them up quite cheaply now and they are great :p

Assassins creed 1,2,3 if you haven't played them. I'd say give little big planet a blast also. The 2nd one is out very soon but the first can be picked up for under £10 and is worth every penny imo.

wipeoutHD is a must also. For the silky smooth game play :D
 
Joe Danger from the PSN is well worth picking up, although GT5 should keep you going for a while anyway!

Also, if you're quick Uno is just 79p on the store at the momemnt, thought it was a bit cack at first but got quite into it:D

My best piece of advice is not to buy any currently released games since you have GT5. I purchased a load when I got my PS3 mid-December and I've only managed to unwrap GT5, Uncharted and Dead Rising 2 since there all so addictive!


p.s. I forgot I only had P.E.S. for a week or so, but it hasn't been touched since GT5 came along with a wheel!

hope it's not on it's way out :p, i wouldn't touch a second hand PS3 with a six foot pole; unless you have complete faith in the previous owner

as for games then both unchartered are worth having. too bad you don't like MGS4 it's good, although my fav is still the first one. there are some FPS exclusives but i thought they were poor tbh, saying that i don't do fps on console, EVER.

It's a brand new slim with GT5 (probs the package deal Sony did)
 
One of the most useful items I've ever got for my PS3 was a bluetooth blu ray remote, as I use mine as a DVD and Blu Ray player. Very useful and works with BBC iplayer etc and even lovefilm and PSN. Very useful item to me, and turns the whole console into a complete media centre.

As for games, just pick up uncharted 1 & 2 and that'll keep you going along with Gt5. Have fun.
