Already got these bits:

AMD Opteron 146
G.Skill 2GB DDR ZX PC3200
Asrock 939Dual-SATA2

I will be ordering the following tomorrow to go with the above:

Scythe Ninja Plus Heatpipe CPU Cooler

OcUK GeForce 7900 GT 256MB
Zalman ZM-RHS1 VGA RAM Heatsink Kit
Zalman VF900-CU Quiet Copper VGA Cooler

Samsung SpinPoint 80GB SATA-II

Antec P150 Quiet PC Case

I will be overclocking and plan to volt mod both the motherboard and the GPU.

1. Any thoughts/alternative recommendations to the above?
2. Will the 430-Watt Neo HE PSU be up to the job of powering these overclocked components?
3. How well will Fear & Oblivion run on this system?

ps. I am sooo dead when the missus finds out

doh I just realised that the VF900 comes with ram heatsinks so thats a tenner saved already :)

I'd love a Seasonic and had my heart set on one of the 500 or 600w versions but I will have to save up some more. I will see how the Antec PSU copes in the meantime.

thanks Johanson :)

Just been reading through the 7900 clocking thread. Looks like the 7900 card is definitely the way to go for me & my limited cash. Do you reckon that OcUK card will clock ok or should I look at another brand ? -money is pretty tight as it is but I've just saved a tenner so I could maybe stretch things a bit..

ok thanks for the reassurance guys :)

I've just ordered the case, fan & hd. Now all I need to do is dig out my crash helmet and go for the GPU as well. Jeez she's gonna go nuts :D

From what Gibbo(OcUK buying manager) posted earlier all the OcUK 7900gt cards are XFX but without the full bundles, XFX are a tier1 partner so they get a good choice of Nvidia chips so I'd go with them and although there are no guarantees the chance are good that it will clock well :)

Got my card today (plus all the rest of the stuff I'd ordered) :D
The 7900GT is a Galaxy. Are these any good?

ok cheers :)

Gonna stick it together later this week. Waited since xmas for all these bits so I'm sure I can wait a couple of days more until I get some time to myself so I don't have to rush it. Will run it at stock for the 1st month & then volt mod the mobo & GPU.

Might have to pop back in this forum later for setup advice. Been a while since my last (& only) proper build. One daft question though -I understand I will need to install SATA driver/s during XP install...these can be installed off a cd right? Floppy drive is dead again.

Shame the missus had an unexpected day off -came home at lunchtime to find she'd signed for the bits. gulp
