EDIT:
PC now built, for info on the final spec, see post #12
For photos of the build, see post #13

Final spec check before i go and collect later today...

The build will be used for video editing - will this be capable of editing 4K smoothly?
Budget is £800, i already have a graphics card i will use (7970)

Is windows 8.1 the one to go for over 7?

Also, can anyone spot potential compatibility problems with the components i have chosen?

Will the cooler i have chosen suffice for a mild (4.4Ghz?) overclock on the CPU?

Power supply is average at best. HEC OEM aren't very good. Spend a bit more and get a quality Superflower unit.

Would say get faster RAM but that TeamGroup stuff is too cheap to ignore.

Everything else looks ok to me

I'd look at the Raijintek coolers, they have similar/generally better performance compared to that now overpriced Hyper 212 Evo
It's still a good cooler, but not as good as things like the Themis Evo/Ereboss

any recommendations?

edit:
i don't have much experience with these low budget coolers and as such am inclined to buy the proven 212.
Silence is the most important factor, but also being so close to the budget already, i can't spend more than £25 on the cooler,

-i decided against that NZXT psu for its colour - can you recommend a black one that is similar in every other way?
-Also i REALLY love the look of the shinobi so i'm not really willing to change, i am happy to sacrifice a bit of ventilation.
- i need 16gb of ram as i'll be video editing :/

i wasn't aware of any cashback offer, i'll look into it....

thanks for all of your comments and suggestions!

in reply to Stulid and Tammzy;
this build isn't for me, and seeing as the case is (to a certain extent) the part that affects performance least, i let my friend choose which case he wanted. He was pretty set on the Shinobi, so i couldn't change it.
Thanks though!

For anyone interested, I built the PC last saturday and my friend received it on Sunday.
Here is the final build spec:

The actual price was £806 thanks to a few offers that were on last week.

In addition to the spec above, i gave him a spare 120mm case fan that i had and a few SATA cables to complete his PC.

I'll post some pictures of the finished build below...

Looks tidy, usually when someone posts a pic of a rig they just built there are cables everywhere.
