Alienware AW3418DW 34 Inch WQHD

ASUS ROG SWIFT Curved PG348Q, 34

Acer Predator Z35P

Alienware AW3418HW

The HW is the most appealing at first glance because of the price however apart from reading this forum my knowledge of monitors is quite redundant. So would the HW do me a good service(Gaming)?

The HW is fine apart from being a lower resolution monitor (i've used a 34" 2560x1080p monitor). The DW would be more ideal BUT takes a fair bit of graphical power to run games at close to their maximum potential. Forget the Z35, it has...issues.

What graphics card are you running at present?

I will be upgrading the gpu to either a 1080ti or one of the RTX's - reviews pending

Ok that's easier. It's the HW for now or the DW for longevity, get the DW if you can it'll be awesome. Don't bother with one of the older 100hz panels like the X34/PG348Q, the 120hz are a little better for gaming imo (as well as the more aggressive curve of the screen). I have the Acer X34P :)

You may want to wait until the LG 34GK950G arrives, which hopefully won't be long. It is using a newer panel than the Dell AW3418DW which is native 100Hz. It does OC to 120Hz but not everyone has managed this, as it is being asked to go beyond the native refresh in doing so, and many users have reported flickering when they OC it. The newer panel is native 144Hz but will max out at 120Hz on the LG due to limitations of the 1.2 G-Sync module. There is every reason to think it will manage 120Hz easier than the Dell however. As it's using a newer panel and features nano-IPS, it could be worth waiting for, and an improvement upon the Dell. No one really seems clear how much of a bonus nano IPS will be yet, but as I say, it's at least worth waiting for some reviews on this one before you pull the trigger, especially if you're about to do so on the DW.

Misread this as About to pull the trigger on one of these four members and was particularly worried after just reading the mass shooting thread. Locked my door just in case.
