About to reformat....Whats best way ?

Hi I want to reformat my computer as not done it in over a year. I am running XP Pro with SP2.
Whats the best way to

A) Save information (emails, contacts etc) from Microsoft Outlook
B) Photos/Music is ok as that is on another hard drive that I shall just simply unplug during reformat
C) Remember what programs I had etc.
anything else I may forget.

Want to do it tonight when I get in from work. If I remember is used to take hours.

Also, I use AVG (Free) As my Anti Virus, is that still the best one to use ?

slipstream SP3 into your xp disc and rebuild it. (nlite)

ditch AVG, try AVAST Free (have to sign up, but it's free)

Usernames and Passwords for forums, newsgroups, etc.

edit - leave all details of your ex on before you format.

I use IE 7

I dont have SP3 ? whats that and do i need it ? if so can i just download SP3 or do i need SP2 as well. Right going to work will check this later (9.30)

Sp3 is just all the updates since SP2, well worth getting....

copy xp disc to C:\xpcd\ download the sp3 exe, use nlite to slipstream the SP into the disc

rebuild the disc with nlite (it's all wizard based)

where do i get sp3 from ? i looked on M/S site and there was no download button ??? Help

and also is Nlite worth doing ? is it fool proof etc ? why is it better than going the normal route ?
