Morning Folks,

Need to pick some brains, I've got a ABS fault on my car. I've had a scan done, comes back saying Right Rear Sensor has no signal.

Now when you rotate all the wheels they all have a speed reading, even the one with no signal. The reader also picked up pump failure.

The issue is, is the sensor broken and causing the car to pick up the pump is broken too as a result? Also, the car is a SAAB 9-5 and everywhere I've read mentioned when the pump is broke the Speedo doesn't work, it doesn't track mileage and cruise control won't work. I don't have any of those issues.

Car needs new bearings at the rear so the whole hub and ABS sensors will be replaced anyway. Just looking for pointers as the pump is a hassle!

Cheers

Do you really have to replace the whole hub and all sensors with the bearing?

if your picking up a reading from the sensors then one would suggest they are working, Maybe check for the ABS ring being Cracked which is common

Is there reluctor rings on the rear? Knew they were on the front and have replaced those ones.

The rear ABS sensor is built into the hub, not sure if this is the case on most cars etc. After reading the sensor sometimes fails if the bearings are worn as it is then uneven.

Swap the sensors over and see if the fault changes sides? If it doesn't then it could be a damaged reluctor ring on that side or a module fault.

When mine went my speedo etc. was fine but I had sensor faults on 3 of my 4 wheels (unlikely).

Well, got home and thought I'd look at the hub since I knew what wheel it is now. Took the connector out, used some contact cleaner on it. Put it back and now after a few hours seems to have gone away.

Hopefully that's it as I don't fancy the hassle of a pump swap.
