Sounds bizarre maybe?

Just had my car checked at ford (yep, I know ive had it about 4 days) as whenever I went over about 10 mph when I first started the car it would make a very bizzare almost grinding noise...

Ford claim its the ABS system testing itself....

does anyone else know about this? Car is a ford puma (2002) for those who didnt see the previous thread

Maybe a wheel bearing or are you braking at the time?

edit: re-reading your post, was this grinding noise constant when you went over say 10mph?

imo.. id doubt a one off sound that only happens when I first pull off from starting the car would be a bearing...

sorry, read it as constant, my bad .... time for bed :)

IIRC on my car apparently the ABS does a self test which makes the sort of noise you describe although Ive personally never heard it myself
