Hello everyone
I've been passed on a laptop to repair for my mother however the issue she described was very odd and i thought she must be doing something wrong.

However this laptop won't turn on for 12-24 hours it has to be left on charge (currently doesn't have a battery) over night and possibly all day for it to turn on. Now once it's turned on there's no problem it works fine like any ordinary laptop, i've stripped it and had a look doesn't look like anything is loose or something shouldn't be where it is.

It's quite an old one, it's a Toshiba Satellite Pro L40 P100 it's starting doing this since my mother went and stayed at my sisters caravan park during the winter (which was very damp) beforehand it worked fine, it's had no water damage or any physical damage (we're aware of)

Anyone got any ideas as to what's wrong, possibly the charger has a fault? the green light does stay on, Or maybe some faulty hardware? We'd like to keep this laptop going if possible any ideas?

Thanks.

I had this problem before, I found stripping it down and removing the cmos battery for a few minutes fixed it.

Aha i didn't think of resetting the cmos, any idea what the problem was? and why the cmos reset work? it turns on after x amount of time but can't see why not immediatly but it will after a day of power
