Abstract

Would you put an Abstract before or after the table of contents of an essay? Handing in an essay tomorow and the guy's really fussy about everything being spot on. Some sources say before, some say after :S

I'm using Harvard referencing if that makes any difference?

There are different ways to do it, has he not told you his preferred way?

I would always put it on the front cover, under my name and title etc. so that it could easily be read in a stack of papers.

Before the introduction, after the table of contents. Include the abstract in the table of contents.

I did before on my dissertation. However, if it's just a simple essay: do as Ricochet suggests.
