The last week or so I have had slight heat issues with my Quad core Xeon
Ambient temps have risen & so have my temps but the AC64 isn't coping
If i said I'd had it 6 months it would be fair so I can't understand what's going on as my last one lasted well over a year & was just not needed anymore rather than less efficient. I have re seated it 3 times & am 100% sure all four clips are in perfectly, On the 3rd (this) attempt I even lost faith in my own TIM application method & went for the thin line AS5 guide method, I'm at a loss & am sitting with 50c temps at idle
+
I took my clocks off & am running at default now with higher temps than when it was clocked, All my case fans have been cleaned & no other hardware has been added to my case & my case a Collermaster ATC S is Massive & has Superb cooling/airflow.
Previously I had a 10% clock that never went over 60c even after 3 hours solid FPS action, It will clokc loads more as well but the 10% suits the many games I play & doesn't kick back any dodgeyness on installs etc It really has been a stable & useful clock with no issues whatsoever.
I am at a loss & just asking if anybody else has noticed a Big drop off in cooling performance within a short period of ownership of the same type cooler or is there something else going on I am not thinking of.
Like I said everything is Mint clean, Fins blown out, Fan blades spotless. Untold space inside case with no cable blockages or airflow blockas, 100% confidence in my TIM application & heatsink mounting.
Is there something else that could effect my temps like a random windows update ? Anybody else had unexpected heat issues over the last week ?
Thankfully All my games still play great & at default my temps are around 60c but obviously Summer is on it's way & I want my clocks back.
S'pose a suggestion for a Better cooler for a 775 wouldn't be a bad idea if you have read this far as I have lost faith in these.
Thanks for reading & for any help/tips etc.
