Due to the unbearable heat (maybe I'm just a wimp) I've been considering an AC Unit. As I live in a rented property I don't think it's wise to attach one to a wall (how ever you do that, screws or something?)

I'm guessing there's ones that just plug into the mains and you fill with ice.

Is there a chance of moisture filling the room? Don't want to get curtains and furniture damp and mouldy etc. I know nothing about them so any advice is good.

Should note I'm speaking of home AC Units, not the big outside grey boxes or window ones.

If you put ice in it, it doesn't make it an Air Conditioner. It's just a fan with a bucket of ice behind it.

You can get actual portable Air Conditioners which have a duct which you can hang out of the window.

It might be better to invest in a portable A/C unit and place the hose through a small window.

The other option which I think your talking about is a plot system were the condenser sits outside and you run the pipe to the indoor unit.

I have one In my bedroom at my parents :D

Just done a search on that website in your post and if it's the grey device positioned on the floo then that will still need a hose to go outside.

All that is is a fan which dumps air outside.

Look up 'portable split air conditioner', this is the real deal.
