AC97 or Sb Live!

Using a Realtek onboard sound chip on my motherboard at the moment for sound. I have an old SB Live card hanging about.

Would it be any better than the AC97?

AC97 isn't a sound chip, it's a Codec. We need to know what the sound chip on your board is before we can let you know what's better.

Ah yeah you're right

It's one of the Realtek ones on the Asrock Dual board.

This fella apparently "Realtek 850 7.1channel AC'97 audio codec"

Onboard is probably better in this case.
