Bought two of these to cool my reference Powercolor 7850s as the reference cooler is terrible and the noise is unbearable once the fan cranks up. Apologies for the scuff marks, my desk is ancient.
Right from the start you can see the difference, its a much beefier heatsink and comes with RAM and VR sinks as well.
After applying the thermal adhesive and letting it cure the sinks were stuck solid, the last aftermarket cooler I tried was a Gelid one on an nVidia 470, the ramsinks fell off and shorted out the card below it.
I had to adjust the bracket, which has 3 positions, so the pipes weren't close to the socket itself.
As you can see it sticks out quite a way, the pamphlet says it has 51mm clearance, or less depending on how you position it, which is 1mm taller than my cpu cooler.
I tried both cards on their own to make sure there were no problems and then fit them both together.
I had to push the top card up a bit as the plastic fan shroud was touching the bottom card, there is a couple of mm of clearance, I only have two 16x slots so I didn't have the luxury of spacing them out more.
Once fitted I let Unigine have a 2 pass run in stock, single, double and overclocked configuration, completely unscientific but it gives you some idea of how much of a difference they made.
They made a massive improvement for me, I can barely hear them over my other fans and even at full load they are night and day difference compared to the jet engine sounds of the reference cooler.
This isn't really a review I just struggled to find any real world usage of these coolers and I thought I would share my experiences.
*edit*
Overclocked to 1175/6000 and voltage at 1210mv barely broke a sweat at 65 degrees, well worth it for overclocking.
