Hi guys, just took my 670 4gb apart and I started putting the heat sinks on just to work out where they go, they ain't glued. But it seems when I put the card down, the metal bracket will be too big to fit . I can't upload pictures as i can't get on my PC. I'm really confused, do all the heat sinks have to be on?

Desperate for help guys

Found a few write ups, one talked about cutting a spacer down to size and not covering all the mem chips with heat sinks. Does anyone have any safer easier fixes. Seems the 670 4gb is not compatible , I'm gutted

Can't you cut some of the heatsinks to fit like so(they are very easy to cut)?:

If you do cut them, make sure you give them a very thorough clean to get rid of all the tiny filaments as they may short the card on contact.

The TFIII cooler misses out some vram heatsinks due to cooler placement on the 7950, I don't think vrams need the utmost cooling, it's the core/vrms that need the most attention with cooling.

The bigger problem is the spacers, if I put them at the wrong length I could fry the card. And seeing as the spacers that come with the cooler are the wrong size, it does get me a little worried
