Accelero X1 vs VF900 Noise Wise

Sorry I'm sure this has been done hundreds of times but I'm more concerned about noise than performance ( ). I want something to replace the stock cooler on my XFX 6800GS XXX as its very loud. The accelero X1 has a rating of 0.4sone but apparently this cannot be compared to decibels. The VF900 on lowest speed setting is rated at 18.5dB, however I think that this is more than 0.4sone. What do people think about the accelero dumping heat on the motherboard, I was planning to have a 120mm amber or something similar sitting near the gfx card to blow air out of the back of the case (I am removing pci blanking plates), will this work?
Am I right in thinking that both coolers take up two slots?

Just to say Stone is to Kelvin as decibels are to centigrade, but on a completly different scale.... if thet makes any senc, but you'll find that they're both incredibly quiet so either way you'll be happy. Personally i've got a vf900 and its quieter than my ambers

Thanks mate, do you have your VF900 on the lowest setting? What card have you got, idle/load temps please?

I guess both coolers will be quieter than other components (my VF700 is at 7V when in 2D and when I launch a game set the fan to ~10V which is still as loud as the other components), but I think the Accelero uses the cards thermal control while the VF900 is on a fanmate so pick the one you like. (also don't know the price difference)
