hi has anyone here installed a accelero xtreme 7970 cooler to a vtx 3d hd7970? i was wondering did you have to remove the stock vrm cooling and apply heatsinks or does the stock heatsink fit under the Accelero Xtreme cooler?
 
I imagine it will fit as there are users with TF3's, Lightnings, Sapphire Dual Fan etc all using the cooler with the stock cooling plates still mounted.

If the vrm sink doesn't protrude any higher than the caps by more than 4mm on the PCB then it's going to fit I imagine.

Hopefully there are a few users here that have done it, read this and can confirm though.

4mm i think it will be tight! spose i will just have to wait and see, the thing is the stock heatsink looks way better than the sinks that come with the vtx.
