Accelero Xtreme 8800 Issue

I bought a accelero extreme 8800 VGA cooler from OCUK and after fitting it to my GTX I see that the thermal pad supplied for the NVIO is too thin and doesn't make contact with the heatsink.

Anyone had this problem? and could i build up the gap between the pad and the heatsink? ie with thermal tape?

Cant you put thermal paste down or buy new pads?

Is it just as simple as putting a few of these together or am I being too simple?

Hmm,never really tried it but i imagine it works fine if you stick a few together.
