Hi

Got a call last night and basically my aunt is offering to give us her old car for free - I didn't take the call so all I could find out about it so far is it's a L-reg Ford Fiesta, automatic, 1.2 *I think*, mot up in June

Now I was planning on buying a car in September for around £1500, but this has thrown a spanner in the works a bit.

We promised to tell them our decision tonight incase we say no they can sort something else out for it. If we say yes then I will have to pay for the insurance (19, been driving for 1 year) . . . I know there's not a lot of info but does it sound worth it? It's hard to pass up the offer of a free car but the mot is due soon, it will have to make the Reading-Leeds trip about 6 times a year, and I've never driven an automatic so not sure what that's like

It doesn't feel right turning down a free car but is it more hassle than it's worth?

If you don't currently have a car, then take up the offer.

Even if you want to get rid of it in 6 months time, it's still 6 months of free motoring.

But what I was thinking was that money spent insuring it could be used instead to save for a better car. Hmm I am edging towards accepting it though
