Bought a used i5 4590t for a low powered fanless ITX build.
The contact pads look damaged to me, or would you consider this acceptable?

Whats the issue with it, I cant tell if it's the camera or if some of the pads are just a little bit dark? If it works clean it up with a bit of ipa and be done with it, it's not a new cpu so if it works then happy days. I hope you didn't pay a lot I sold a few of these CPU's a while ago for £35/£40.

I paid a little over the odds for it, there wasn't many for sale and I didn't really know its value.

it just thermal paste nothing to cry about. just wipe it off and move on with your life

Thanks, my tears cleaned it right up good as new.

Your photo isn't the best, but are we looking at the small light grey bits mid left ,o r the whole of the darker area bottom left? Or is the darker area just the way the pic has been taken?

Sorry yes the picture was poor which may have been misleading. The dark looking area is just shadow. It was just thermal compound I was referencing which I (embarrassingly) didn't actually realise that's all it was. All cleaned up now.
