Was just wondering what kind of temps are acceptable for a CPU (in this case PII X4 965) under load. Mine is currently at ~50c at load with stock cooling, but that fan is annoyingly loud and want to be able to lower the RPM a bit, so was wondering what kind of temp I should be aiming for? don't want to cook my CPU because the fan was too loud for me ;)

those temps are fine, a aftermarket cooler will deffo help by a lot with sound and temp, those amd am2/am3 stock fans are annoying to say the least! Swopped to a aftermarket one and never looked back.
I know they are fine atm, I'm just wanting to drop fan speed and wondering what temp I should stop :) I'll be grabbing an aftermarket at some point, probably at same time I get new case, psu & gpu :)
