Acceptable GPU temps

I have had a look around and cannot find much information on this.

Recently I upgraded my GPU and also my case and I am looking for some help as to what the ideal GPU temps should be.

I have been messing with fan profiles etc and I can get the card to be what I think is pretty cool if I have the fans on high.

While it is not really an issue, I would rather than fans were not on high all the time as it is quite noisy, even with headphones on during a quiet game.

My card is an Asus 4070ti, I did buy a used 3080 but had to return it sadly due to an issue with it crashing my pc.

On MW2 with high fan speed my max temp is 56 degrees GPU and 67 hot spot. Leaving the fan profiles up to the GPU I can see this rise up to 68 and hot spot of 80ish.

What is an ideal number here, anybody know. I know the cards are designed to run hot, just wondering what my target temp should be and then I can adjust the fan profile to suit.

Thanks for any help.

56 is so low under load. The coolers on these are so overkill.

I would be happy personally with it anywhere up to 75. Even then, in comparison to past cards, that’s relatively low.

Sounds like you certainly have some headroom to take the fan profile down a notch or two.
