Hi
I have a gigabyte mobo with windows 8.1 installed, i am trying to access the bios but during boot up it will not let me in, the splash screen shows before the login page with the option to press del etc but nothing happens, i have tried the option to press the shift key when restarting but there is no option to gain bios access.

Spam DEL, F12, F10, F2 all of them and you'll eventually get in.

It's delete key to access BIOS,makesure your on latest BIOS version and that fastboot isn't enabled in the BIOS

Fastboot disabled Usb ports till your in windows,try clearing cmos or try a ps2 kb or adaptor

Mine is a bit flakey with this also. Maybe its just a Gigabyte thing? Just press all the keys quickly and one will work lol. Like reaper said it will be Del or F12, I think.

If you are booting in UEFI mode, you can ask Windows to reboot into the Bios.

Microsoft implemented this as Post times have gotten so fast it can be difficult to get in the old way... My UX32VD Ultrabook is so fast I don't even see the prompt...

Thanks for the reply's, tried all of the above and nothing works only other option is to try a different keyboard

Have you accidentally enabled fast boot? that wont give you much time to hit DEL to get into the BIOS if at all.

Try powering off, removeing the battery and then refitting.

Use the gigabyte app to enable or disable fast boot in windows.
