Access database using other software?

Does anybody have any recommendations for some software that will allow use of an existing MS Access database without actually using MS Access?

Reason is that I have an old dying machine running Win98 and it's used primarily for a database, the lady who owns it has a new W7 laptop but doesn't have the discs or keys to re-install Access (if such an old version would even work on a W7 machine) and obviously doesn't want to spend a small fortune to buy Access.

Try OpenOffice, you won't be able to read the forms etc though afaik.

Been trying to open it with libra office database but it appears to be just hanging, oh well...

What version of Access?

MS have run-times available for free downloads eg 2007 and 2010
