Hi,

I've got 3 computers, 2 with XP Pro and 1 with Vista Ultimate, all fully up to date. I've been trying to move some stuff over to my Mums old XP PC that I've nicked from her now she has a laptop. It's still named MUMPC. The problem is neither of my other 2 computers can access its network shares, meaning I have to go the long way round whenever I want to do anything...

I have a basic network with a router, both XP PCs are wireless and the Vista one is wired. All PCs are on the same workgroup, have no firewalls, both XP PCs using simple file sharing, etc. The Vista and other XP PC can access each other fine and MUMPC can access the other two fine. Neither XP PC has a password, though the Vista one does and all have different usernames. I get this message when I try and access the PC from the Network page and a similar one from View Workgroup Computers on the other XP PC....

If I access the shares directly, eg \\MUMPC\folderabc then it works and I can access things fine, but that is rather silly!

Any ideas? I've tried all kinds of things! :)

EDIT: Bah, I had to write that in a hurry, I should have been in bed 2 hours ago - I guess this should have been in the network section!

I have the same issue on my network, Can access 2 out of 5 shared drives on my brothers vista ultimate machine the rest give me the same message as that.

Tried everything under the sun but could not resolve, load up a virtual pc with xp and bam straight into all drives. sorry dont have anything usefull :p

Thing is my other XP PC can't access it either, so I don't think it's Vista... for once :p
