I'm stumped. You wouldn't believe how many PC's I setup and home/office networks but my own won't work.
It all started when I installed a new 400 gig WD drive last friday and the one I replaced was working OK.
There are directories/folders I want to give the other four PC's in the house to but it just won't work.
The other PC's can still access folders in the C:drive but anything in the new D:drive can't be accessed.

Heres the error message from one of the PC's -

Heres the Properties for one of the folders -

Any ideas?

NTFS permissions looking at the bottom screen. You'll need to add 'everyone' permissions to it to allow unauthenticated access.

I've been a lucky boy for years. When you setup a home network it must do all this automatically and put 'everyone' as standard. My error was that I'd dragged and dropped copied to my new hard drive and there must be system files on the hard drive (System Volume Information!) that the new drive didn't get.

Got there in the end

Thanks
