Access iTunes from sleep?

My macbook air has all my music on it, I plan on using an iPhone to access iTunes and go through airplay to an apple tv > dac > amp.

Can I access my iTunes library with an iPhone if my macbook air is asleep?

I would try but I am waiting for an iPhone to turn up...
