Hello guys,

I would like to add an access-point to extend the WIFI coverage.

The following devices by Ubiquiti caught my attention:

Regarding the above, can you please tell me the difference please. Range coverage seems the same.

Can you please add some input regarding which one is the best, or if there are better alternatives?
Budget is max 150 sterling.

Thanks in advance,
Kavalier

Not just speed.

The AC LR supports 5Ghz along with 2x2 MU-MIMO (multiple user multiple input multiple output) - this allows for simultaneous WiFi on 2 devices. Quite a handy benefit if you've got 2 devices streaming simultaneously, as they're not fighting for the WiFi (only sharing broadband bandwidth) (within reason)

Do you have something to run the controller software on OP? For some features such as guest portal, WiFi schedule you need it running 24/7

No, I do not have a dedicated machine. What I need is good coverage mainly, which the Access Point listed above does pretty well.

It’s just MiMo so you can combine two channels on 2x2 transmit and receive. But it’s only one client at a time. If you want M-MiMo you need the HD suffixed devices.

There is another error in the AP-AC-LR description on the website because it says it’s 3x3 MiMo on the 2.4 GHz channel, and it’s only 2x2.

It is a GREAT access point though.

That has to be a cut & paste error. The UBNT sales literature is riddled with cut & paste errors. The AP-AC-LR only has two sets of antennae.

Would be really interested to know how you get on with it, as it's a solution I'm personally looking into for my father.
Hi mate :) The installation was straight-forward. Was mind-blown with the interface, so much tweaks to apply.

Range wise I am more than happy :)

In short, I would recommend this product!
