Hi guys I'm after a bit of an advise if it ok :D

I'm looking for either an access point or router with guest network that can hide or separate the shop local network to customers network as i'm going to provide wifi to the customers for free with any purchases in the shop for 30 minutes. I'm looking at either using my BT Hub and adding Ubiquiti Unifi AP or getting ASUS AC68U. Which one of these 2 better option for me to provide wifi to the customers?

My plan is customers will get random wifi code that will last for 30 minutes with any purchases and that code will be printed out with the receipt (not sure how to do this yet, lol) but also the customers can not see the option for our local network which will be hidden (is it possible?)

Any help would be appreciated guys.

Thanks again

You could look at the Open-Mesh APs which are managed by their CloudTrax platform.

You can generate voucher codes through CloudTrax which can be limited to a specific duration.

You can also set the customer SSID not to allow access to your LAN and throttle the bandwidth available to customers:

https://help.cloudtrax.com/hc/en-us/articles/202465700-Part-3-Configuring-your-Network-and-SSIDs

Block LAN Access: Prevents users on this wireless network from accessing your wired LAN.

Bandwidth Throttling: Enable and set download/upload limits to set the maximum speeds users will get when connected to your network. You may want to set these to between 10 and 25 per cent of the speed of your Internet connection, ensuring that one or two users can’t consume the entire available bandwidth.

Thanks for the reply.

Just had a look on open mesh and I think it is sound better and more suitable for me actually than ubiquiti unifi.

Will I just use bt hub with open mesh or will I be better change the bt hub to another router like draytek or asus 68u? I'm thinking about either getting the om5p or om2p.

Just wondering if you know, I wonder if I can print the receipt with random wifi password directly at the bottom of the receipt rather than printing separate ones .

Thanks again
