Hi guys im sorry if this post is in the wrong section but im just guessing that this problem is maybe ram/hardware related.

I get the following error Access violation at address 00C4BD7F.
I was jsut wondering if anyone knew what this about and how i might go about fixing it.

Thanks in advance

Care to provide any more details? What OS and hardware would be a good start, along with when the error occurs. You've given us so little to go on that you may as well google the hex number yourself.

As mentioned, a bit more detail would be excellent. I'm sure we can help you out when we get that.

P.S. What part of Arran you from? I used to visit all the time when I was younger to cycle.

hey guys sorry complety forgot to mention the details. Its an acer laptop with windows xp home edition and its 1gig memory its not the fastest laptop on the world. The error so far occurs on things like internet browsers. I tried reinstalling firefox etc but still had the same problem.

Im from whiting bay on the south of the island :) although ive been staying in the west end of glasgow for a little bit recently.

Does the error message mention a "module" that is trying to access that address?
E.g. : Access Violation at address 00C4BD7F in module 'ABC.OCX'

The reason I ask - I get access violations at work when working on certain web-based applications that are using OCXs. As I don't get any violations using other software they would appear to be a fault with the app and not the memory on my PC.

Ok, so it looks like Flash is crashing on your PC. Its a different address to last time also.
You could try re-installing Flash: www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/

If you find that other OCXs are also crashing then it could be a more general problem with either your browser or your RAM. Have you tried diferent browsers or just FF?

Good luck :)
