Accessing file dates?

How do i get the last date file was accessed without overwriting it!?

doesnt work you right click it and the access date changes to the time you right clicked it?!!!!!?

In windows explorer, see the bit at the top where it says "Name", "Size", "Type" etc, right click on that and select "More" from the list, then you should be able to check the box saying "Last accessed"
that way you'll be able to see the last accessed date in explorer without actually touching the file.
