Accessing router configuration in a Mac

Hi, complete Apple idiot here.

Basically i'm trying to DMZ an IP in a network that i'm remotely connected to. Im remote connected to an Apple Mac running OSX (from windows 7 laptop). When i put the router IP into the safari browser it does not work!

I'm pretty sure ive got the right IP address, but to be sure, how do I find out the router IP in a Mac?

Is it possible the firewall is denying me access to its config settings?

Go to System Preferences -> Network -> Currently active AirPort/Ethernet device -> Advanced... and select the TCP/IP tab; Router IP should be listed there.
