Accessing VPN help

I'm new to all this VPN malarkey so please be patient.

So I have paid for a 3rd party VPN. Now I want to access my network (RaspberryPi) from an external network e.g. Work to be able to access Deluge WebUI for example or VNC onto it.

I believe a VPN works like this:

Raspberry---->Router---->VPN---->Internet


How would I go about doing this? Can I go:

Me(External Network)---->Internet ---->VPN<---->Router<---->Raspberry?
If so how?

Not sure of your setup? 3rd party vpn? You mean you purchased some software that's running on a pc?
