Accident damage, how long did repair take?

Bit of a general question but my rear wing needed replacing due to some idiot in a porsche so insurance had it booked in. It's now been at the repair centre for 2 1/2 weeks and the guy there reckons it might not be ready before the weekend. He's cited various problems from paint not matching to the fitter being ill. I don't really think it's acceptable and am toying with an angry letter to the insurance company and Mazda dealer who recommended the shop. Do you think i should wait a bit longer or is it worth trying to get a grace payment for the inconvenience of not having the vehicle?

My wing replacement and dent removal took about two weeks. I got the same "sprayer is ill" excuse. More likely they overbooked work.

Are you driving a free courtesy vehicle at the moment? If so, don't complain and just be glad that they aren't doing a rush job and giving you back shoddy quick work.

My car went in for some minor front end damage, and was in for 2 weeks, however i then had to reject the repair as it was naff. I got it back again in a week, and yet again it was shoddy.

Just be greatful you aren't being messed around.

it wouldnt even take a day to remove and weld in a new one. so painting it takes 2 weeks? i think not

theyre obviously doing other cars before or at the same time as yours.

Replacing and painting door skin on my Mondeo took 48 hours, which is see as reasonable - more work than a bumper too i'd expect.

I had a front wing, front bumper and headlight replaced on a new-shape civic when i clunked the GFs car, all colour matched and repaired within 24 hours of going into the garage (parts ordered before-hand to be fair)

2 1/2 weeks is really unreasonable!

I had a new front wing, bumper, bonnet straightened and the slam bar under the bumper fixed and fitted including spray in just over a week.

Shame I was left car less. Make the most of it.

All 3 times I've been rear ended, the repairs have taken 1 to 2 weeks.
That was to replace bumper and tail lights. Bend panels back and spray.
