Accident Damage

Reason I ask is because some idiot scratched my car yesterday or this morning, so I went and had a quote for its repair, only to find out that not only was the bonnet newer than the rest of the car, but the bumper and both wings had been re-painted and also there are signs of welding work in the engine bay.

None of this was shown on the HPI check I had done, so considering the extent of the damage, I would have assumed it would get reported.

Only damage that resulted in the car being written off would be recorded anywhere that you could easily check.

Is this the bargain 330ci?

Nope, if someone has crashed the car and just got it repaired off their own back by paying someone to do it then no one will have recorded it. Only if something goes through insurance will it potentially be put down as a CAT A-CAT D and even then values and details are not held I don't think.

Oh dear.

I found out that mine had been resprayed (badly) at one point, as the paint had started bubbling and SEAT were having none of it.
The previous owner did tell me there had been "light parking damage" from the first owner but I didn't expect that to mean the whole side had been resprayed :(
