do these exist in the UK?

we have these in the rest of europe, but judging by some problems people have with accidents in the way of people changing stories and lying about what happened, it would seem that you don't have them in the UK.

if not, why not?
certainly makes falsifying claims and changing the story a lot more difficult, as both parties have to sign the form and the other party takes a carbon copy..

the only way of making an insurance claim (in most of europe) is by filling in one of these, having both parties sign the form, complete with diagram, driver and insurance details, etc and then they are sent off to the respective insurance companies..

for example my dad was shunted in france the other month. they filled in this form, with the frenchman keeping the carbon copy. the form was sent to the insurance company, who then sorted everything out with the french insurers.
seems to be a damn sight easier than what you poor people go through :p

Cause the UK sucks for helpful meaningful policies and legislation.

That is to be used by both at scene of accident if the two parties stop? Other than actually having to carry them it seems a good idea to me.

yes.
and how is "actually having the carry them" a bad thing?
stick it in your handbook (usually in the glovebox), or in the seat pocket..
2 folded sheets of A4 aren't exactly going to take up a massive space :p

another weird thing about the UK is how you don't need any car papers with you in the car..

I'm not saying a bad thing, just like everything else ends up falling out, getting accidentally chucked or wet etc. Just be a bum if the pair of drivers didn't have one.

And as for the papers thing, I prefer that. In Spain you need them with you at all times, and vehicle theft is pretty high in parts because of it. Most end up keeping them in glove.

yeh i guess. you have to carry all the papers with you by law anyway, plus you usually get a little wallet from the insurance company with all the papers in..
i keep photocopies though as i don't want originals in the car in case it's nicked, as one of them is the 'pink slip'..

i guess you don't need car docs as car tax = sticker, and other things like insurance can be see with ANPR..
