Had a car accident last november. Basically on a car park turning right. Went to go, saw some coming and stopped about 1ft over the white line. Was stationary for about 10 secs when someone came and hit me from the right.

Insurance company said as i was over the line it was my fault. Police called me to give a written statement and off the record said why on earth did they find it my fault. I said i can only assume they were with the same insurance company and wanted a quick settlement and replied "good assumption".

Surely this is a big conflict of interest, is there anything i can do or just smile and take it on the chin :(

At no point did i ever admit liability eiher at the scene or talking to the insurers.

It's a bit dumb to get that near to a junction to be able to clip your cars nose but you were still over the line, so I don't really see that you have a leg to stand on? was the damage bad?

I bet for most people after a little knock the first thought in their minds is a whiplash claim before, is the everything OK thought, it's pretty pathetic!

Everyone try's it nowadays, and because you cant prove it wrong then they will always win the case.

My friend had nearly the same thing happen to him, he had his front end out a little at a junction and a cyclist hit him even though the road was empty. He said the cyclist had to lean over to fall on the ground as he hit the car at such a slow pace, he though he was joking. The cyclist is claiming with back problems!

Were turning into the americans where they claim for everything, solicitors chasing ambulances

best of all they told the police i had no insurance or license. Obv they checked the computer and saw all was fine.
