I was involved in a traffic accident last week. I was expecting the police to take some action against the guy who hit me as roads were clear and he was obviously going way too fast for the wet conditions, ending up planted firmly in my tail gate.
I have just received a letter from Beds police informing me that they have decided not to take any action.
I have asked a couple of mates to check for any CCTV in the area as this would show just what an idiot he was being.
I have been left with a damaged car, inflamed and bruised neck joint capsules according to the osteopath (i can actually hear my neck joints when i move!) and just to top it off, as i was supposed to be working over Christmas my wife has taken the kids to Bruges with the mother in law so i am sitting here on my tod. Great:(

Does anyone know how the police reach this type of decision as i would be interested to know???

Lack of evidence more than likely. They ain't going to waste police time and money on a "case" that isn't going anywhere.

Get onto his insurance and by the sounds of it you will be making a personal injury claim.

should have gone to Bruges with the wife.

Wish i could have gone but hotel room etc was booked for them and the kids so no room at the inn.
Regarding a 'case', my son had a prang at the beginning of the year that was deemed probably 50/50 by the attending Cams constabulary. He was forced to attend a driving awareness course (which cost me £115!). This was definately 100% his fault and the Beds constabulary do nothing???
Insurance are on the case although his company have still not admitted liability:mad:

Seriously, its a minor RTA. He made a mistake - you will get your car fixed, you will have medical treatment paid for.

You can't prosecute everyone who accidently crashes into somebody else. That would be ridicullous.

I am not talking about prosecution. I was more under the impression that the type of driving awareness course that my son had to take were now the norm?, obviously not, or is it dependant on the force?

haha

What else could it be unless the op reversed, Jesus wept!

The police do what they feal like, they've probably got their quota and are knocking of for xmass.

it could be he decided to ram the bright red, well illuminated stationary car at the round about and all because he has a grudge against French cars.Seriously though, the only good thing about the whole situation is that my mate had the day off and so i travelled alone-could have been two of us in A and E i guess.
