Accidently deleted call of duty 4 profile...help?

So as title really. A few hours ago i accidently deleted my call of duty 4 profile within the game. Does anyone know if there isd anyway to restore it?

Tried google with no luck.

'Within in the game' so I assume he means in one of the actual game menus.

yeah it was within a game menu.

pretty stupid thing to do, but in my defence it didnt even give me the customary, 'are you sure you want to do this' screen

I doubt that you'll be able to restore something like that. Best of luck mate.

You could check the profiles folder on the off chance its still there but been disabled.. but im guessing its toast. Hope your favourite setup wasn't too high level ^_^

good idea, ill try a system restore.

It was a level 55, with everything unlocked and most chalages completed.

edit. it was multiplayer.

could try one of those disk recovery programs, but you potentially risk corrupting your game

Run a data recovery program, it'll scan and pick it up so long as you haven't installed masses of data recently

System restore sorted mine out when one of the patches did funny things ..if not...hey, think how much more enjoyment you have ahead of you, like the first time you unlock the first Golden weapon !!

Got a data recovory program. Anyone know the file extension i should be searcing for. Also if it does find it, any ideas on what the file will be called.

it'll likely be a folder, if not just go into your profiles folder atm in program files and see the extensions.

yeah gave that a try. went in to my call of duty 4 folder. and there is no folder in there for profiles, dipite having another profile in the game still working. Ive tried showing hidden files and folders still with no luck. Strange. Any suggestions?

P.s this is vista 64

tbh, you can lvl in mp extremely fast. it's better winning as a lvl 10 than a lvl 55.

yeah that is true. I dont have much time for games though, maybe 1 hour max a couple nights a week, so takes me quite a long time.

Is there any chance you might be able to take a look at the file extension if you have the game?

If all else fails get the unlock for all weps, at least then you have a fighting chance in MP and you can work through the challenges.
