So was taking apart my pc, moving to a new case, and old motherboard in other case which im building for my mum haha.

And as i took the cpu out, I slightly grazed my finger on the little threads(hyper) if thats what they're called. And one of them looks like its facing the opposite way of the others..has that ** Swear words must be fully starred** up the whole thing..or will contact with the cpu still work?

(p.s waiting on new cpu to try it, arrives tomorrow)

If you mean the cpu contact pins, then maybe it's messed up. A few others have straightened them before but it depends on how much damage has been done.

Could you please fully star out the swear word.

Any chance of a pic? You may be lucky and the pin is only slightly out of alignment. I recently done the same on an asus maximus 6 formula board. System still worked fine though.

Where do I upload the pic to? to post on here? or just simply imgur?

SO I installed the new cpu which was going for my mums build, only to check if everything is fine, after touching the threads. But it placed smoothly on it. AT first when i tried to turn it on, i kinda smelt a smoke kinda smell..and the fan originally came for the cpu wasnt spinning so used my old one from my other cpu..and it seems to be spinning faster than usual and louder..although this is an intel pentium, the fan was previously used for my i7 4770k not sure if that matters. Need to install windows before i see if everything is right

I did this once to four pins. Way I solved it was to use my 16 megapixel camera to take close ups from all four angles in natural light. Then on the PC blow up the images and you can then see how the pins are bent. Then using a very small flat blade screwdriver (and my glasses) bent the pins back to the original way. Took a bit of paitence but worked.
