Accrington cup tie abandoned tonight due to bad injury.

Accrington Stanley and Tranmere cup game tonight has been abandoned after Tom Bender an Accrington players was taken to hospital with a really bad injury.

Seems he collided with the keeper and another player. Play was stopped for 38 minutes as they waited for an ambulance to arrive.

Being reported on twitter that he may have broke his neck. Bad news if he has. Hopefully it's not true and the young lad is ok.

Turns out the ambulance was called at 20.31 and arrived at 20.48 a whole 17 minutes. A second one turned up at 5 minutes after.

Not knowing the demographics of Accrington it's hard to say if this was a long time or the norm. The physio does not seem top be to happy with the time limit though.
