Nah I was saying this aint a flight sim, I wouldnt play this game as its too unrealistic.

yea i knew what you meant, and it is a flight sim (just not an entierly acurate one lol)

plus...i doubt many people would buy a combat flight sim, as 99% wouldnt even be able to play it

hmmm nope.

PC release comes out a little after the consoles though, i think (not sure)

Looks like that could quite adequately kill a few hours. It doesn't have to be a realistic sim to be enjoyable!

seems to be trying to compete with hawx, ace combat seemed arcadey to me. if it will be like the video then yeah as siriusb says, could kill some time.

Why does it need to compete with a crap arcade flight game? :/

Thought this was only coming out on Xbox 360 and PS3? Wasn't aware there was going to be a PC release.

Other than the fact that the Ace Combat series was around for more than a decade before HAWX even got announced?

HAWX is trying to copy AC not the other way round, and it does a shoddy job of it imo.

I could sort of tell from the trailer graphics that this is console only.

As far as I know no Ace Combat game has ever been released on the PC, so don't expect this one to be either. Its usually a PlayStation exclusive, but AC6 was Xbox 360 only. The new one is for both consoles.

I played Ace Combat Distant Thunder on the PS2 years ago and that was a very entertaining game.

Suggest this thread is moved to the Console forum?

No because a simulator is realistic. Think of it like this: This is the CoD to DCS' ArmA.

No, it just annoys me greatly when people start calling these things "flight sims" when it can be piloted with only the buttons available on a controller.

Exactly, CoD - Arcade shooter, Arma - Soldier Sim
AC - Arcade flying game, DCS - Flight Sim

No reason for anyone to get upset by it but the Ace Combat series cannot be considered to be a simulator.

Indeed.

The Ace Combat series has been around since the first PlayStation console and is supposed to be over-the-top arcadey.

Although now that Assault Horizon is based on our real-life modern world and not the fictional settings the games were known for, I can understand that comparison for those not familiar with this series.

And since when the hell was this game announced for PC? I definately would have remembered that if it were the case. The series was always console based since this is Namco afterall.
