Hey guys

I have got a good range of new shiny trinkets arriving this week!

Here is a bit of a heads up on them :)

Zalman HD501 Home Theatre PC Case - Black @ £119.99 inc VAT

CA-042-ZA_400.jpg

Available in two different styles, the HD500 series HTPC cases not only look great but they also offer excellent cooling for a HTPC chassis. The minimalist styling, brushed aluminium finish and the rounded corners give these cases a distinctive look. The optical drive, I/O ports and a hot-swappable HDD are all hidden behind front aluminium flaps to maintain the elegant finish.

The HD500 series can accommodate Micro ATX as well as Standard ATX motherboards. This makes it possible to install high performance components without having to worry if a large CPU cooler or graphics card will fit. The cases are compatible with coolers no taller than 130mm. Finally, with the HD500 series you can install long PSUs due to the extra space.

One of the down sides to HTPC case is the fact they can become quite warm due to the size of the chassis'. Zalman have helped to solve this problem by incorporating many ventilation holes. At the rear and the left side of the case you will find that there are two 80mm fans and 120mm fan. These fans are designed to extract the hot air generated inside the chassis. The intake fan is also 120mm which blows the cooler air from outside the chassis over the HDDs

Both the HD501 and the 503 have the facility for one hot-swappable 3.5" hard drive to be installed. This hard drive is installed into a 5.25" drive bay rather than a 3.5". As you would expect the HDD is mounted on anti-vibrational rubber screws. The hot-swappable HDD is accessed by lowering the bottom flap.

For convenience Zalman have also made available at the front of the case several common ports. Two USB, one e-SATA, one headphone and one microphone port are all available. These ports are hidden behind the same flap that hides the hot-swappable HDD.

- 450(W) x 170(H) x 455(D)mm
- GPU Support: Up to 260 mm max length
- 5.25" Bays: 2 (Hot Swap Bay x 1)

Tens of thousands of enthusiast users all over the world swear by the NH-D14's quality and performance. Recommended by more than 250 international hardware websites and magazines, it is renowned as one of the best high end coolers on the market.

Six heatpipe dual radiator design
Providing more surface area, better heat distribution and superior airflow efficiency than conventional tower style heatsinks, the NH-D14's six heatpipe dual radiator design was developed to provide ultimate quiet cooling performance in dual fan mode.

Dual NF-P14/NF-P12 PWM fan setup
The NH-D14 sports a premium quality dual PWM fan setup consisting of Noctua's award-winning NF-P12 (120mm) and NF-P14 (140mm) fans, both of which feature Vortex Control Notches, SCD technology and SSO Bearings in order to achieve a perfect balance of performance and quietness.

Custom designed PWM IC with SCD
Supporting fully automatic PWM speed control, the NH-D14 SE2011's NF-P12 and NF-P14 fans use Noctua's novel, custom designed NE-FD1 PWM IC that offers Smooth Commutation Drive (SCD) technology. By providing smoother torque impulses, SCD suppresses PWM switching noises and thus makes the fans quieter at lower speeds.

Excellent component cooling
Hanging out at the bottom of the fin stacks, the NF-P14 fan doesn't only contribute to the NH-D14's superb CPU cooling capabilities but also provides massive airflow over the surrounding motherboard components and heatsinks, thus ensuring excellent component cooling performance.

Scythe Samurai ZZ Quiet Top-down CPU Cooler (Socket LGA1366/LGA1155/6/LGA775/AM3/AM2+/AM2/754/939/940) @ £24.98 inc VAT

HS-032-SY_400.jpg

You might already be aware that Scythe had previously released a CPU cooler called the Samurai. The original Samurai was a great success for Scythe and it would not surprise us if this was the sole reason they decided to use the same name on their newest offering. However, the only similarity between the old Samurai and the new Samurai ZZ is the name. The new cooler looks nothing like its predecessor, as you can see from the image below.
When looking to choose a CPU cooler, there are many factors to consider. Naturally we believe that one of the most important factors is noise, and the quieter the better. The Samurai ZZ is not the quietest CPU cooler we stock but in contrast to a stock cooler it is very quiet indeed. Another important factor is performance: there is no point in changing a cooler if it is going to result in higher CPU temperatures. Again, the Samurai ZZ excels there. Improved quieter cooling - an excellent combination!

Zalman CNPS12X Ultimate Performance Triple Fan CPU Cooler (Socket Intel LGA2011/1366/1156/1155/775 and AMD FM1/AM3+/AM3/AM2+/AM2) @ £72.98 inc VAT

HS-059-ZA_400.jpg

Renowned for producing some of the world best CPU coolers, Zalman have now released their newest flagship cooler, the CNPS12X. It is the world's first "out of the box" triple fan cooler and is compatible with Intel latest LGA2011 Sandy Bridge E processors.

Worlds first "out of the box" triple fan CPU cooler
There are many CPU coolers available on the market that can accommodate three fans, but to make this happen at least one additional fan needs to be purchased which add to the expense. With the Zalman CNPS12X you get three 120mm blue LED fans built into the cooler so there is no extra costs. Also all three fans run off one fan header, making powering the fans extremely easy.

Six W-DTH composite heatpipes for excellent heat transfer
First seen on the CNPS11X, composite heatpipes help transfer the heat from the CPU up to 50% faster than standard heatpipes. This helps to increase the performance of the cooler even further. The six heatpipes are U-shaped, which effectively double the heat transfer compared to none U-shaped heatpipes.
At the base of the cooler (where the heatpipes make contact with the CPU) the heatpipes utilise what Zalman call Whole-Direct Touch Heatpipes (W-DTH). This allows the heatpipes to make direct contact with the CPU, another feature to help increase performance. But not only that, the area of the Direct Touch will cover the whole CPU. Even the new Intel CPUs for LGA2011 will also be covered by W-DTH.

100% nickel plated with blue LED fans for amazing aesthetics
Most CPU coolers are hidden inside the computer case where they go about their business unseen. But if you like to show off the internals of the PC you may want a CPU cooler than looks the part, and boy the CNPS12X does look the part!
The entire heatsink of CNPS12X is plated with "Black-Pearl" nickel for a long-term corrosion resistance, while the deep "Black-Pearl" tone, along with the high intensity from the blue LED fans helps this cooler stand head and shoulders above the rest.
