Acer 19" WS. Should i?

Hey all

Been looking at these for a while now. I'm in the market for a new widescreen. My budget will be around £250 but i'm wondering if i should spend the hole lot and get a decent 19" or buy a cheaper 20"+?

Is a 20" that much more over a 19"? Or should i buy the Acer and save my money? Going to be doing a lot of gaming and watching DVD's. I've been told if i am to consider a widescreen, then a 20"+ is far more superior?

Opinions? :)

In the same position as you benjo! I was thinking of either getting a cheap 19" widescreen for about £130-£140 and save about £60-£70 or get a cheap 20" widescreen...

In my other thread, Gibbo said they'll be some price drops on the Belinea 20" screens... hopefully they'll be cheap enough to justify the expense. :)

I've just sold my Xerox 19" screen so am seriously favoring a 20" screen to be honest... at least I won't lose height as 19" widescreens are 1440x900 (from 1280x1024).

i had a 19" widescreen (from 17" 5:4) and i missed the vertical space.. so if i were you i would save a little more and go for the 20" with the higher res.

I did see your thread kbc, but gibbo put me off the belinea by saying it was only vga? I doubt theres much difference though :) And i was looking at that monitor aswell

Acer 19, nice monitor I have two, but one developed a fault had to send it back
Downside with Acer is, prey your monitor does not develop a fault.
Repairs can take forever, 4 months to get mine back still having problems with it.
Also have 20 inch NEC stunning piece of kit
 
the reason why i chose a 19in over a 20in is that i knew my aging setup (in sig) would last a fair bit longer when it comes to gaming. 1440x900 is considerably less pixels than 1680x1050.

i don't want to upgrade until i really have to. :p
