Acer 5710 trying to install Windows XP says no HDDs found.

Hi all

need some help please.

Trying to install XP on the wifes lappy.

I have repartioned it to fat32, but when I boot from CD and get to press enter to install. It tells me there are no HDDs found.

Please help.

Is is a sata HD, these can cause problems, see if there is a hd mode in the bios and set it to ide it might help.

it has and its set to ACHI (or which ever way the letters go)

will set to IDE.
