hi guys i brought a second hand laptop as above and cant get some of the features to work i know i need to do a factory reset but not sure how. the guy i brought it off said there was no factory reset disc just a partition on the hdd so i need to know how to do this, all the info ive looked up suggests alt+f10 after a reset but this gets me to a win7 boot menu. help!!! PLEASE!!!

The option needs to be enabled in the bios, it usually is by default. But if not press F2 on start up to enter bios then enable D2D recovery. The hold down alt while tapping F10 as soon as you turn it on.

Was win7 the original os, it might have messed the boot partion up if its been put on after.

win 7 premium was preloaded but its been upgraded to ultimate. can i mess this up if i factory reset? is it best not to and just make do? or can i get a recovery disc from anywhere?

Its probably been wiped then and a fresh install done. You should be ok to use a win7 premium disc and just download the drivers and software from acer as you have a key on the bottom. Or you could buy a set of discs but they're probably around £30-£40 a set.
